Those who wanted to learn SQL or PL/SQL without installation oracle on Local PC, ORACLE provides “Oracle Application Express” where you can develop and deploy applications on web browser, there is no need to install anything. whether you are a beginner or a professional, Oracle APEX lets you develop web applications or learn sql or pl/sql.

Click “Request a Free Workspace” to register and get and the workspace. Then click “Get Started”

Enter First Name, Last name and the Email, click next.

Enter the workspace name, dont enter common names, try to enter unique names otherwise you may get error.

type the scheme name for the workspace and select the space required. click next. You will be asked for the reason for using this service, enter the details and click next.

Workspace creation completed. You will receive mail from oracle once the account is approved and workspace, username and password will be provided along with this.

Login using the credentials provided by oracle.  In the Login screen, click SQL workshop to work on SQL or PL/SQL.

select “sql commands” under “sql workshop”

In the right corner of sql commands you can view object browser, click to select the demo tables and other objects details.

To execute any SQL or PL/SQL , goto sql commands.

Type the sql query & click “Run”,  Using the demo tables available in db.

 

some of the queries tested in sql commands, you can join the queries, create your own tables, insert data into it & PL/SQL sample program.

    Is there an export to .csv file feature? This is just meant to test web applications or websites right?

    1. Hi Abdul, Thanks for your comments, Oracle Apex web browser can be used for web application development for oracle db. I found this more useful for beginners who wanted to practise SQL without installing in their PC & yes you can use CSV to upload & execute the script.
